Brief Psychological Screening Report
A concise 3–4 page clinical opinion on your client’s current psychological presentation. Includes GAD-7 and PHQ-9 where appropriate.
£750 | 3 working days from assessment | Payment required before assessment
When to Use This Service
The brief screening report is appropriate where a full MLR is not required but you need a structured clinical opinion from a qualified psychologist. Typical uses include:
- Initial stages of a case where the full clinical picture is not yet established
- Cases where a shorter psychological opinion is acceptable to the instructing court or Tribunal
- Where a screening opinion is needed ahead of a decision on full assessment
- Cases where budget constraints limit the scope of expert evidence
Where, following a screening assessment, it becomes apparent that a full MLR is required, Alla will advise the instructing solicitor. The brief screening fee may be credited towards the full MLR fee — confirm this at the point of instruction.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is the brief screening different from a full MLR?
A brief screening report is 3–4 pages and provides a concise clinical opinion on your client’s current psychological presentation. It does not include a full clinical history, detailed causation analysis, risk assessment or prognosis. A full MLR is comprehensive and up to 20 pages. If you are unsure which is appropriate for your case, contact Alla before instructing.
Can the brief screening report be upgraded to a full MLR?
Yes. Where the screening assessment indicates that a full MLR is required, Alla will advise you. The brief screening fee may be credited towards the full MLR fee. Confirm this arrangement at the point of instruction.
Is the brief screening report accepted by Tribunals?
A brief screening report is a professional clinical opinion and can be submitted as evidence. However, for full Tribunal proceedings a complete medico-legal report is generally more appropriate. Alla will advise if she considers a full MLR is required following the screening assessment.
