Professional Background
Alla began her professional practice in 2006 with training in neuro-linguistic programming and clinical hypnotherapy, qualifying in Dubai and gaining USA certification — working with clients in this capacity until 2014. In 2015 she completed a Master of Science in Psychology from Coventry University on a British Psychological Society accredited course, formally adding clinical and academic psychology to an already established practice. Expert witness and medico-legal work began in February 2019 and has been the core of her practice since.
She has assessed clients in immigration and asylum cases, Upper Tribunal appeals, Home Office proceedings, modern slavery and human trafficking cases, domestic abuse cases, PTSD and trauma-related cases, fitness for interview matters, and criminal cases. Her reports have been accepted by the First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal Immigration and Asylum Chamber and used in Home Office proceedings.
Alla is a serial entrepreneur with a background spanning advertising, marketing, online education, iOS app development and e-commerce. She has presented to UK Government agencies on mental health topics and has been a keynote speaker at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Services, UAE University, on three occasions. She has designed and published an iOS mental health app and has published academic work on hypnosis and on social media and mental health.

Regulatory Status
The title Psychologist is not a legally protected title in the United Kingdom. The protected titles — Clinical Psychologist, Forensic Psychologist, Counselling Psychologist — require doctoral-level training and HCPC registration. Alla does not use a protected title. She practises as a Consultant Psychologist, a title that carries no statutory restriction.
Alla holds an MSc in Psychology from a BPS-approved course, is a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society, and has been in private psychological practice since 2006. She is not HCPC-registered. Her reports are prepared in accordance with expert witness obligations, include a full statement of compliance, and have been accepted by the First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal Immigration and Asylum Chamber and used in Home Office proceedings.
The Home Office has on occasion raised a procedural query regarding HCPC regulation in specific cases. Alla is experienced in responding to such queries and has a documented track record of doing so directly and effectively. Every medico-legal report prepared by Alla Davies includes a full statement of compliance and a statement of truth confirming:
- Her overriding duty is to the Tribunal and overrides any obligation to those instructing her
- She has endeavoured to be impartial, accurate and complete
- She has drawn attention to any matters that might adversely affect her opinion
- Nothing has been included on suggestion by others without her forming an independent view
- She will notify instructing solicitors without delay if the report requires correction
