How It Works
From first contact to secure PDF delivery, the process is designed to cause minimal disruption to your caseload. Instructions are accepted by email only.
Step 1 — Email Your Letter of Instruction
Send your letter of instruction to [email protected]. Include your firm name and SRA number, your name and direct contact details, the client’s full name and date of birth, the case type and all relevant reference numbers, the purpose of the report and any specific questions, any supporting documents, and your required completion date. For urgent 48-hour instructions, also WhatsApp 07504 811353 at the same time to confirm availability.
Step 2 — Payment Before Assessment
Payment is required before the assessment proceeds — no exceptions. An invoice is issued on confirmation of instruction. Assessment appointments are not confirmed until payment is received. Legal Aid cases are invoiced on confirmation of LAA funding.
Step 3 — Confirmation and Appointment
Alla will confirm the applicable fee, availability, and an assessment date by return email. For urgent cases she will confirm by WhatsApp and email within two hours during working hours.
Step 4 — Secure Video Assessment
Assessments are conducted by secure video link via WhatsApp. The client needs a smartphone or tablet with a working camera and a private quiet space for the duration of the call. Full MLR assessments last up to two hours. Brief screening assessments take approximately 45–60 minutes. Fitness for interview consultations take 10–20 minutes.
Step 5 — Report Preparation and Delivery
The agreed turnaround runs from the date of assessment. The report is prepared and quality-checked by Alla before delivery. It is delivered as a secure paginated PDF to the instructing solicitor’s email address. Alla is available to answer questions about the report following delivery.
Additional Notes
Bulk bookings — if you need multiple clients assessed, Alla can accommodate up to six clients per day. Bulk bookings require a written contract with cancellation and pull-out terms before any appointments are confirmed.
Travel — Alla does not travel to assessments unless specifically requested. If an in-person assessment is required, travel is charged at cost: first class rail or business class air, plus taxis and accommodation where applicable.
Legal Aid — Legal Aid cases are accepted. Fees follow the Government’s expert witness remuneration guidance. The base location for Legal Aid pricing is Guildford, Surrey. Please confirm Legal Aid funding at the point of instruction.
