Notes on Fees
Why £1,500 is the minimum for a full MLR
The £1,500 base fee reflects the Government’s expert witness remuneration guidance for Legal Aid cases and represents the minimum acceptable rate for a 30-year practitioner delivering a court-ready 20-page report with psychometric testing within five working days. Alla does not accept instructions for full MLRs at rates below this level.
Urgent fee calculation
Urgent delivery 48 hours from assessment: £1,500 plus 50% equals £2,250. Weekend or bank holiday urgent delivery: £2,250 plus 50% equals £3,375. These uplifts reflect the operational reality of completing a full clinical report outside normal working hours on a priority basis.
Bulk bookings
Firms with multiple clients requiring assessment are invited to contact Alla to discuss bulk booking arrangements. Bulk bookings require a written contract with defined cancellation and pull-out terms before any appointments are confirmed. Alla can assess up to six clients in a single day.
Legal Aid
Legal Aid cases are accepted. Fees follow Government expert witness remuneration guidance. The base location for Legal Aid pricing is Guildford, Surrey. Please provide LAA funding confirmation with the letter of instruction. Invoices are issued via Xero and are formatted to meet Legal Aid billing requirements.
Payment is required before the assessment proceeds — no exceptions. Assessment appointments are not confirmed until payment is received. This applies to all services including Legal Aid instructions subject to LAA funding confirmation.
